The 2016 BAFTA Awards

Well for those of you that don't know ,(most of my readers in Europe likely know) The British Academy Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) held their 69th British Academy Film Awards Ceremony . First off I didn't watch these for two reasons: I'm in the US and they are not majorly televised here like the Oscars or the Golden Globes. Don't get me wrong they are televised here on BBC America which a lot of people are not able to view including me. Also I was away without TV or Internet. Due to this I unfortunately cannot tell you how Stephen Fry did as host but if any of you saw the ceremony please let me know what you thought down below! That doesn't stop me from talking about the winners though so here goes. Best picture went to The Revenant . Best Director went to  Alejandro G. Iñárritu for The Revenant . Best Actor went to Leonardo DiCaprio and is definitely going to be his year at the Oscars. Best Actress went to Brie Larson for Room . Interesting thing about this category is that Alicia Vikander was nominated in this category but at the Oscars she is nominated for supporting Actress and she is the front runner to win it. As for Larson she is the front runner for lead actress. Best supporting Actress was Kate Winslet and she may give Alicia Vikander a run for her money at the Oscars . Best supporting Actor was Mark Rylance for Bridge of Spies . I would like to say to Sylvester Stallone, “If you would like to win the Oscar, you are going to need to start campaigning very heavily because you may end up losing it to Mark Rylance.” Best original screenplay went to Spotlight which is probably going to win the Oscar because it won the Writers Guild Award . Best adapted screenplay went The Big Short which is likely going to win the Oscar because it also won at The Writers Guild . And finally Best Animated Feature went to Inside Out which is also the only lock at the Oscars.
Now I would like to mention that this Award season is one of the only ones in history that the best picture race is wide open . Right now there are 3 front runners for Best Picture and they are The Revenant , Spotlight, and The Big Short with the other 5 being a possible upset and those are Bridge of Spies, Mad Max:Fury Road, Brooklyn, The Martian, and Room . What will win , I really can't say Goodnight and Bee Happy!
