The top X Disney Movies of All Time

Welcome to this very special blog on my top X Disney movies of all time. I would like to point out that I go NUTS for all things Disney (and have since I was a kid). In fact, I have been in a psych ward several times because of Disney. So, let's get on with it. Like with most top 10's, I am going to be working my way down from 10 to 1. And the format is basically the same, before I announce my #1 pick, I am going to give a couple of honorable mentions. Oh yeah, and I'm going to go over some ground rules. No movies that are currently in theaters are included. And, of course, no movies that have yet to be released. I am NOT a professional move critic that gets advanced screening for basically every movie. No made-for-tv movies or direct to video movies have been included. Also, no movie that Disney bought the rights to later has been included.
Without further ado, there's only 1 thing t0 say before we proceed; Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

X. Tangled

This movie reinvigorated the princess genre for Disney with good songs to boot. It is really funny, and it does actually tell a good story. Why is at number 10 though? Because it is kind of predictable. And I don't watch it all that much. So, this is why it hangs on to the 10 spot. I haven't watched it in a while, so maybe I'll think more highly of it when I revisit this topic someday.

IX. Aladdin

Part of the only reason that I'm putting this on here today is because of Robin Williams. But, it is a really good movie. It is funny (especially the parts with Williams' genie in them), but it is not my favorite. So this is why it is at number 9. Moving on...

VIII.  The Avengers
Well, there is only 1 thing that I can say about the Avengers, it's the GREATEST comic book movie EVER made (I have not seen The Avengers II yet).
But, it is not the greatest movie ever made (stay tuned for that).

VII. Beauty and the Beast
It was the first animated movie nominated for an Oscar for Best Picture! As for why it took so long for an animated movie to get nominated, that is a discussion for another day. But it definitely deserved its nomination. Enough said.

VI. Frozen
I know that some of you Frozen haters are rolling your eyes. And I see that some people are checking out of my blog right now, but give me a chance to explain myself. I think that Frozen is a great movie. For the people who don't like Frozen, please comment or email me at thatbradley@gmail.com and tell me why you hate Frozen. Me, personally, I think that the songs are BRILLIANT. I can not say that the songs are overplayed because I'm the guy that is overplaying them (I think that the sheriff that doesn't like Frozen is going to send out an arrest warrant for me!). The story is top-notch. Let's move on to the TOP FIVE!

V. Sleeping Beauty
The animation is superb and timeless. It has one of the greatest movie villains of all time in Maleficant. But, unfortunately, one of the greatest movie villains of all times was RUINED by the TERRIBLE movie starring Angela Jolie! Sleeping Beauty was 10 years in the making – which makes it more remarkable. Enough said.

IV. The Muppets' Movies

The muppets are just plain funny. I am a huge muppets fan, and most of the muppets movies are hillarious (with the exception of The Muppets' Wizard of Oz. The good thing is, it does not count on this list because it was a made-for-tv-movie). A Muppets' Christmas Carol is basically one of best interpretations of the classic Dickens' tale. The 2011 muppets' movie made me think to myself that Disney CAN do the muppets. Let's move on to the top 3.

III. Pixar
Yes, it's another group category! All of the Pixar movies are extraordinary. Pixar has never made a bad movie! There are some that are better than others. I think their best movie to date is Toy Story 3. I think that their weakest movie to date is the original Toy Story (yes, I said it). But, I am going to make a top-10 Pixar only list in the near future. Now, let's move on to the top 2!

II. Winnie the Pooh
I LOVE WINNIE the POOH! Any time I see Winnie the Pooh, my critical eye goes blind. Every time I see any of them, I turn to mush. If you look around my bedroom, you will see Winnie the Pooh EVERYWHERE (and a LOT of movies)! Moving on to the top spot...Drum-roll, please...but first, we take a short intermission for honorable mentions:

Honorable Mentions:
  • Bolt – It's a really good movie, and it will probably be on the top 20 list.
  • Robin Hood – Also in the top 20.
  • The Black Cauldron (yes, I just said it) – It would go in the top 13.
  • The Little Mermaid” – It almost made the cut.
  • Cinderella” – If I did a top 16, it would definitely make the cut.
  • Fantasia & Fantasia 2000 – If I did a top 15, the first Fantasia would be in there. If I did a top 18, 2000 would be there.
  • Fun and Fancy Free – If I did a top 12, if would definitely make the cut.
  • Lincoln – This is another movie that almost made the cut
  • The Princess and the Frog – If I did a top 14, it would definitely hae made it in.
  • And the one that started it all: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs - Unfortunately, there is a very good reason that it didn't make the cut; it is, by far and away, not the best movie Disney has made. But, it would surely be in a top 50 list.
Ladies and gentlemen, children of all ages, now for the moment you've all been waiting for (unless you already skipped ahead). The best Disney movie of all time is...

    I. Mary Poppins

Yes, Mary Poppins. I don't just find it to be the best Disney movie of all time, it is THE BEST MOVIE EVER. The humor is top-notch. The comedy is some of the funniest that has ever been put on the big screen. Oh, yes, and before anybody asks, I think that it should have won the Oscar for Best Picture in 1965. So, enough said.

Thank you to the kind people who are still reading this after I said that Toy Story is the weakest Pixar movie. For all of these movies, this is not an actual review, and I reserve the right to give a full review of them down the road. So, to everybody that is still reading this, Goodnight, and Bee Happy!™
