Oscar Nominees & The Critics Choice Awards

For those of you that don't know, one week ago today, 1/15/15, the Oscar Nominees were announced and the Critics Choice Awards happened. I am going to give you my opinion on both cases so let's begin shall we. Before I get in to this I am going to go a little bit off topic by ask all the Razzie award nominees “ What were you thinking?” To the subject at hand, let's begin with the surprises in both cases, the surprises at the Oscars are that “The Lego Movie” did not get nominated for Best Animated Feature and “Selma” did not get nominated for Best Director or Best Actor. Another surprise was that “American Sniper” was one of the most nominated movies this year, which is rather strange considering it was basically absent on the award shows leading up to this. I'm telling you right now that “American Sniper” will not win! If I am wrong and it does win then I will review the MTV movie awards (but it won't win so I don't have to worry about it). Now for the surprises at The Critics Choice Awards, which weren't too many, but the biggest surprise was, I guess, “The Grand Budapest Hotel” winning best comedy (I thought for sure “Birdman” was going to win) and Michael Keaton winning two awards that night (he is definitely poised to win an Oscar). “Boyhood” won Best Picture which was kind of a surprise, but it was my number two prediction, it is definitely poised to win an Oscar. Thanks for joining me today or tonight depending on when you are reading this. All the Oscar nominees are smiling right now especially Jeffrey Katzenberg. There is still time to submit a movie for my end of the year poll (the MTV movie award do not count, remember the only way I will review that is if American Sniper wins best picture, which basically means when pigs fly). The poll closes on Feb 28th 2015.
