Award Season Nominations 2016

Warning: The awards in the above pictures I may or may not be covering and the dates are not current.
Well, what an amazing month it has been. Now, we have got nominations for four big award shows this month. The first of which was the Annies (which I covered in my last blog). But we are here to cover the SAG's, The Golden Globes, and The Critics Choice. I am doing this in the order they were announced. Well, let's begin!

The SAG Awards:
For Best Performance by a Cast for a Motion Picture (A.K.A. Best Picture): Spotlight will most certainly win here. I predict Bryan Cranston in Trumbo for Best Actor. For Best Actress, it's a toss-up. I'm not sure who is going to win so I'm going to go with Kate Blanchett for Carol.

The Golden Globes:
For Best Picture Drama, I predict Spotlight. For Best Picture Musical or Comedy, I predict The Martian (although it was not really a comedy). I predict Bryan Cranston for Best Actor in a Drama for Trumbo. I predict Blanchett again for Carol as Best Actress in a Drama. For Best Actor in a Comedy, I predict Matt Damon for The Martian. I predict Amy Schumer for Trainwreck and Best Actress in a Comedy. For Best Director, I predict Tom McCarthy for Spotlight. For best animated feature, I predict Inside Out.

The Critics' Choice Awards
Now this is kind of momentous because, since I wrote my predictions for the other award shows on this blog, the Broadcast Film Critics Association (which run The Critics' Choice Awards) added Star Wars the Force Awakens to the nominations list for best picture. If you want to know more about this I will post a link to a you-tube video about it. Will Star Wars win, no, I don't think so, but what I predict will win is Spotlight (Spotlight won all of the other critics awards so it will probably win here as well.) For Best Actor, I predict Matt Damon in The Martian. For Best Actress, I predict Cate Blanchett for Carol. For Best Director, I predict Tom McCarthy in Spotlight. For Best Animated Feature, my prediction is Inside Out (again).

As to the answer for my quiz, the answer is How to Train Your Dragon. There is no quiz this week due to the fact that I am getting ready for my end of the year poll (check back for the rules.)

Goodnight and Happy New Year,
