One
of the most brilliant actors for many generations, and one of the
most talented comedians died tragically two months ago. That person (
if you look at the title)
is
none other than Robin Williams. He brought joy and laughter to many ,
although his death did not bring anything but sorrow. This affected
me greatly , in fact my first review almost did not happen due to his
death.
I
decided to do my first review despite my sadness. I am not going to
give you the nitty gritty details of his death. If you want to know
that do a Google search. What I am going to do is give you a quick
review of X of his movies. They are not going to be in any
particular order and I am not going to rate any of them.
I.
Aladdin
This
classic animated movie released in 1992 starred Robin Williams as the
genie and Gilbert Gottfried as Iago. The animation is superb, the
humor is top notch and the voice acting is excellent, but it is
Robin's performance that steals the show.
II.
Aladdin and the King of Thieves
This
animated direct to video movie was released in 1996, and it had the
returning voice cast including Robin Williams and Gilbert Gottfried.
Now this is technically the third movie released in the Aladdin
series, but only the first and the third has Robin Williams as the
genie. The animation in this movie is not as good a quality as we saw
in the first movie, but it is much better than what was seen in
Return of
Jafar. The
writing was extremely well done, but like in the first movie, Robin's
performance once again steals the show.
III.
Jumanji
This
1995 live action movie that stars Robin Williams as Alan Parish and
Kirsten Dunst as Judy Shepherd has superb writing . The special
affects are a bit dated now, but were extremely well done for it's
time but it is Robin Williams that is the scene stealer.
IV.
Night At The Museum
This
2006 live action movie features Robin Williams as Teddy Roosevelt and
Ben Stiller as Larry Daley . Ben Stiller's acting is extremely well
done and the writing is well done as well , but it is Robin Williams
performance
as
Theodore Roosevelt that is the highlight of the movie.
V.
Night At The Museum : Battle Of The Smithsonian
This
2009 sequel to the 2006 movie, Night At The Museum, has the returning
cast members Ben Stiller and Robin Williams. The movie is not as
funny as the first one, but with every bad joke there is a good one
coming along , but like with the first movie it is Robin Williams
that is the highlight of this movie.
VI.
Popeye
This
1980 musical comedy film stars Robin Williams as Popeye and Shelley
Duvall as Olive Oyl . The songs are extremely catchy but the movie
drags on. It is truly Robin Williams that steals the show.
VII.
Flubber
This
1997 movie features Robin Williams as Professor Philip Brainard and
Ted Levine as Wesson . The animation on Flubber and Weebo looked
extremely real, but the movie really drags on . Despite all this the
movie is very funny.
VIII.
Bicentennial Man
This
1999 movie stars Robin Williams as Andrew Martin and Oliver Platt as
Rupert Burns. The movie sends you on an emotional roller coaster all
through its running time, but it is Robin Williams that is easily the
best part of the movie.
IX.
Mrs. Doubtfire
This
1993 comedy classic stars Robin Williams as Daniel Hillard /
Euphegenia Doubtfire and Sally Field as Miranda Hillard. This movie
is hilarious right from the opening scene. Sally Field does a
wonderful job in her role, but like always Robin Williams steals the
show.
X.
Dead Poets Society
This
1989 film classic stars Robin Williams as John Keating and Ethan
Hawke as Todd Anderson . Unlike most Robin Williams movies its a
drama rather than a comedy. It is very emotional and some scenes are
very unsettling, for example (spoiler alert!) there is a scene
where one of the characters commits suicide but Robin Williams, like
many other movies, plays the best part.
In
conclusion, Robin Williams – “You are one of the greatest actors
that ever came onto this earth and now I cannot imagine Hollywood
without you there. Robin I am rating your career as a whole, as the
highest honor that I can bestow: Five Gold Stars. You were just plain
brilliant. I think I speak for everyone at Mr. Bee's Brilliant Movie
Buzz saying you will be missed a lot!''
